Poly Prep Earth Day 2020

This year, For Poly Prep’s annual Earth Day celebration, the Sustainability club held group-led forums on sustainable practices, had experts in environmental sciences speak to classes, and built two functioning solar tables.

With the many activities, sustainability club planned students and teachers were able to learn more about the planet while also learning ways to help the environment on campus and at home. We made a major emphasis on recycling after lunch periods where commonly students were unaware where each waste material should go.

Overall the day was a huge success allowing everyone to walk home with a new piece of information even as small as using a water bottle more often or as big as the construction of a solar table. Hopefully next year we can use what worked well such as a large group project and make adjustments on activities that did not work so that Earth day at poly in 2021 could be even better.
