Mission Statement.

Throughout my life, the ocean has always been a sanctuary for my soul. I created this website with the intention of sharing knowledge about my passion for the ocean and sustainability. One of my favorite sayings my father has told me was that smart people know a lot about their field, but an even smarter person is willing to admit what they do not know and continue their search of knowledge. Similar to our ever growing pool of knowledge this website is not finite. It will grow and evolve as we learn new information. My hope is to use this platform to share what I know and inspire others to find their own path that drives them everyday.

BIO

My name is Tyler Lupovici, as a kid, I grew up in the heart of New York City constantly being surrounded by man-made concrete structures but always craving the outdoors. Fortunately, my parents are sailors and on the weekends during the warmer months as a family we could go out to Long Island to enjoy the water and this is where I first found my love for the Ocean. Since then I have taken every opportunity that has come my way to deepen my knowledge in this field whether it be talking to more experienced boaters in the marina or obtaining a scuba license. Eventually, I want to pursue this passion of mine in college, allowing me to professionally pursue my passions in the workforce and use my drive to help the oceans.

Sustainability

Sustainability has always had a major influence on my life. I first started from my love of the ocean but then later grew at school where I was able to use my engineering skills to help construct a solar table for the campus. This device was a place where students and faculty could charge their devices sustainably. The best way to approach sustainability is to first analyze all of the daily practices we partake in and then find more efficient and long-term solutions. It could be as simple as carrying around a reusable water bottle instead of buying a single-use plastic one. I believe everyone has the power to change their routine to better the environment no matter how small the change.

Reef Donkey

It all begins with an idea. My friends and I wanted to create a sustainable beach-themed clothing brand that we could put our name behind. We first got the idea from the fish species called the Amberjack which is more commonly known as the reef donkey because the species mainly dwells by the reef all day and protects it. Feel free to check out our other website and support the brand and our oceans.
